Frequently asked questions
General questions
How much does a small business website cost?
With Impulso Digital Dorado, $1,200 to $3,500 USD depending on pages, languages and e-commerce; a redesign runs $900 to $2,500. A US freelancer charges $1,500 to $8,000 and a US agency $6,000 to $35,000 for comparable work; we come in 40–70 % lower because we build nearshore in Tijuana. Invoiced in USD.
How much do a custom POS, CRM, business system or app cost?
POS Lite from $15 USD a month and a custom POS from $7,000 one time; custom CRM $2,500 to $6,000; custom business system $6,000 to $15,000; mobile app $5,000 to $12,000. Website maintenance runs $80 to $250 a month and Analytics setup $250 to $600. All with scope in writing and no per-seat licenses; the quote tool gives you a range in 2 minutes.
Is tax added to your prices?
Prices are quoted in US dollars and do not include tax. Services exported to clients in the United States are invoiced at 0 % Mexican VAT, so nothing is added on our side. If you ask to be invoiced in Mexican pesos, Mexican VAT applies instead: 8 % in the northern border zone, 16 % elsewhere, and 16 % on monthly subscriptions.
Why doesn’t my business show up on Google?
Almost always one of seven causes: no URL per service and metro area, pages that do not answer what people ask, an incomplete Google Business Profile, a slow site or one that blocks bots, no reviews or mentions off-site, no Bing indexing, or being too new. The free 5-minute check tells you which one is yours.
How do I get ChatGPT to recommend my business?
Four measurable things: allow AI bots in robots.txt, answer each question in 40 to 60 words with structured data, earn reviews and mentions off-site, and be indexed in Bing, which ChatGPT’s search uses. It is built in weeks and measured by the visits arriving from ChatGPT in GA4 — traffic that grew 206 % in a year and converts 4.4×.
How long until I see results?
AI bots crawl a new or fixed site in 2 to 4 weeks; the first Google movements show in 30 to 60 days and ChatGPT or Perplexity citations within 1 to 3 months. Our Alba Roja case moved from position 9 to 6 in three weeks. Anyone promising "page one in a week" is lying to you.
Do I own the site, the domain and the code?
Yes, from day one. Domain, hosting, Analytics and Search Console are opened in your name; code and database are delivered complete and documented. You can leave with everything or export your data any time. It is in the contract because "I lost access to my own website" is one of the most common complaints we hear.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep everything built: site, system, data, accounts. Monthly plans (visibility, reports, POS) renew month to month and pause whenever you want with no penalty; you would only lose support and updates. You export sales, customers, inventory and quotes to Excel or CSV at no cost and without asking permission.
Why nearshore in Tijuana instead of a US agency or offshore?
Same time zone as California, live calls in English, and 40–70 % below US agency rates. Tijuana is 20 minutes from San Diego; we work with US clients daily over video, WhatsApp and email, invoice in USD, and can meet in person in the San Diego–Tijuana area. Offshore saves money but costs you the time zone.
Do you build bilingual English/Spanish websites?
Yes, it is our specialty: separate Spanish pages with their own URLs, search terms and copy written by native speakers, with reciprocal hreflang — not a translation widget. Over 40 million people in the US speak Spanish at home and search in Spanish; a bilingual site is how you show up for them on Google and ChatGPT.
What is a "website that listens" and what is MCP?
A complete website you also manage by talking to your AI assistant: "turn on holiday mode", "add a banner from the 14th to the 17th", "change the package price", and the site changes in under a minute or within minutes depending on the change. MCP is the open standard the assistant uses to connect to the site; you just type the instruction. It is a site tier, from $1,200 USD.
How do you quote and how do I pay?
In 2 minutes with the quote tool (instant range) or on WhatsApp; then a 20–30 minute call and a one-page proposal with scope, price and date. Projects are 50 % upfront and 50 % on delivery; plans are month to month. Invoiced in USD (or MXN if you prefer), by wire, ACH or card. No fine print.
What warranty and support are included?
A contract with a calendar and weekly previews you see online; a 3-month warranty after delivery to fix any defect in what was delivered at no cost; the first month of adjustments and the first report included. Support on WhatsApp and email in English and Spanish during business hours, Pacific time; optional maintenance afterwards, in writing.
Services
Questions by service
Each service has its own page with more detail, pricing and process.
With Impulso Digital Dorado, $1,200 to $3,500 USD depending on pages, languages and e-commerce. A DIY builder costs less but does not rank; a US agency charges $6,000 to $35,000. We publish ranges because "how much" is the first question everyone asks.
Why nearshore in Tijuana instead of offshore?
Same time zone as California, real-time calls in English, and 40–70 % below US agency rates. Tijuana is 20 minutes from San Diego; we work with US clients daily and can invoice in USD.
Do I own the site, the domain and the code?
Yes. Domain and hosting are opened in your name, you get the full code, and you can leave with it any time. You can export your leads and form data whenever you want. It is in the contract.
What does "get found on ChatGPT" actually mean?
That when someone asks ChatGPT, Gemini or Perplexity for a business like yours in your area, your site can be cited as a source. It comes from clear question-based content, structured data and AI-bot permissions; we measure it by the visits arriving from those tools.
Is maintenance included?
The first month of adjustments, the initial report and the first year of domain and hosting are included. After that, optional maintenance starts at $80 USD per month with updates, backups, uptime monitoring, measurement and a plain-English monthly report. The site is yours either way.
With Impulso Digital Dorado, $900 to $2,500 USD depending on page count, whether you add Spanish, and how much copy is rewritten. US freelancers charge $1,500 to $8,000 for a redesign and agencies $5,000 to $20,000; we come in lower because we build nearshore in Tijuana, not because we skip the research or the SEO migration.
Will I lose my Google rankings if I redesign?
Not if it is done with a redirect map. Before launch we record every URL that brings visits in Search Console and 301-redirect it to its new equivalent; afterwards we confirm Google picked it up. Sites lose rankings when they get redesigned "pretty" without that map — that is exactly what we prevent.
Should I redesign or start from scratch?
Redesign if you have URLs that rank, content people read or a recognized brand; start over if the site ranks for nothing, lives in a closed builder like Wix, or your business changed. We check your Search Console in the free 5-minute review and tell you which one — sometimes the honest answer is the cheaper one.
Can I keep WordPress, Wix or Squarespace?
Sometimes. Closed builders (Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy Builder) are usually worth leaving: limited URL control, incomplete structured data and poor readability for AI engines. WordPress can stay if it works, but in most redesigns we move to static HTML because it loads faster, is safer and does not depend on plugins or monthly builder fees.
How long does a redesign take?
2 to 4 weeks from proposal approval: week one is audit and new structure, the following weeks are design and build with weekly previews on a staging URL while your current site stays live. Adding a Spanish version or a large page count can push it to 5 or 6 weeks.
Usually one of five reasons: your robots.txt blocks AI bots, your site has no clear question-and-answer content or structured data, you are not indexed in Bing (ChatGPT’s search uses Bing’s index), you have too few mentions and reviews elsewhere, or the site is JavaScript-only and AI crawlers can’t read it. The free 5-minute audit tells you which.
How much do generative engine optimization services cost?
With Impulso Digital Dorado, $400 to $1,200 USD per month plus $600 to $1,500 setup, depending on competition, pages and languages. That is typically 40–70 % below a US agency retainer for the same work, because we operate nearshore in Tijuana — and unlike most, we publish the evidence report every month.
How long until I show up?
AI bots crawl a new or fixed site in 2 to 4 weeks; the first Google movements show in 30 to 60 days and citations in ChatGPT or Perplexity within 1 to 3 months. Our Alba Roja case went from position 9 to 6 in three weeks. Anyone promising "page one in a week" is lying.
What is the difference between SEO, AEO and GEO?
SEO gets Google to rank your pages. AEO (answer engine optimization) gets the direct answer to a question pulled from your site — a 40–60 word answer under each headline, FAQs, structured data. GEO (generative engine optimization) gets ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity to cite or recommend you: AI-bot permissions, citable content, off-site mentions. Same page, three layers.
How do I know it is working?
Three pieces of evidence in your monthly report: Search Console positions and impressions, GA4 sessions with a separate "AI Traffic" channel (chatgpt.com, perplexity.ai, gemini.google.com), and Bing Webmaster Tools’ AI Performance report — plus a log of 10 to 20 prompts with screenshots showing whether you are mentioned. Traffic from ChatGPT grew 206 % in a year and converts 4.4×; we track exactly that.
Is there a contract?
Setup is paid once; the monthly plan renews month to month. If you pause, everything built — pages, structured data, Google Business Profile, Analytics and Search Console access — stays in your name. We recommend six months because visibility compounds, but it is your call. Invoiced in USD.
POS Lite runs $15 to $30 USD a month across three tiers, with no setup fee and a 14-day trial with no card. Free plans cap locations and features. A POS built around your operation — invoicing, true multi-location, offline mode — starts at $7,000 USD one time, with no per-swipe fee from us.
Does POS Lite do tax invoicing (CFDI)?
Not yet. If your customers ask for tax invoices, you want the custom tier, where invoicing is tied to the ticket with no document cap — that is what runs in production at Tadaima POS. We would rather tell you before you pay for a subscription that will not do what you actually need.
Does it work offline and across locations?
POS Lite needs a connection and handles multiple locations only on the higher tiers; it does not transfer stock between stores. Offline mode, transfers, layaways and pre-orders with deposits belong to the custom tier, from $7,000 USD — exactly what is in production at Tadaima POS.
What does POS Lite do that others don’t?
Three things that save hours: a smart button that searches the web and fills in a product’s name, price and image; AI that removes photo backgrounds so the catalog looks consistent; and a digital catalog you share with a link. All from a phone, with Face ID or Touch ID login.
What happens to my data if I leave?
It is yours: export products, sales and inventory to CSV any time, at no cost. On the custom tier the code and database are in your name by contract. It is the most common question we get, and the reason people stay stuck with a POS they hate.
How much does custom software for a small business cost?
$6,000 to $15,000 USD one time with Impulso Digital Dorado, depending on modules, locations and users, with no monthly per-seat license. That is typically 40–70 % below a US development shop for the same scope, because we build nearshore in Tijuana on a base we already run for our own products. Invoiced in USD.
Build vs. buy: when does custom make sense?
Buy off-the-shelf if your operation is standard, you have fewer than three users and nothing needs to talk to anything else. Build custom if you already have your own workflows, several locations or departments, or you pay every month for seats and modules you barely use. On the first call we do the math with you, even if the answer is not us.
How long does it take?
6 to 12 weeks in phases: the first useful module (inventory or sales, whichever hurts most) ships in 3 to 4 weeks and your team starts using it while we build the next. A system with production, several locations and accounting integration can take 4 months; dates go in writing.
Does it connect to my POS, QuickBooks or online store?
Yes. It connects to our POS or yours if it has an API, to your online store, and exports to QuickBooks or whatever your accountant uses. The goal is one record for sales, inventory and production instead of three tools that never talk to each other — with screens and support in English and Spanish for bilingual teams.
What if I stop working with you? Do I keep my data?
Yes. Code and database are in your name from day one, and you can export everything to Excel or CSV any time. If we part ways the system remains yours; you would only lose our support. It is in the contract because it is the question we hear most.
How much does a custom CRM cost for a small business?
With Impulso Digital Dorado, $2,500 to $6,000 USD one time, no per-seat license, with WhatsApp and SMS inside the record and a connection to your POS. For comparison, HubSpot Professional is $100 per user per month — five users over five years is about $30,000 — and Zoho runs $14 to $52 per user. Invoiced in USD.
Why not just use HubSpot Free?
If you quote alone and do not need messaging inside the record, use it — we will say so. The trouble starts with the second rep, the first automation and the connection to your inventory: each one bumps you to a higher tier, and over five years you pay more than a CRM you own that actually talks to your operation.
Is WhatsApp really integrated, or is it just a button?
Really integrated: messages are sent and received from the CRM through the official WhatsApp Business API, every conversation is stored in the customer record, and templates go out prefilled. SMS works the same way. Your number stays yours; the team works from the system and the owner sees the whole history.
How long does it take?
3 to 5 weeks from proposal approval: week one is discovery and pipeline design, the following weeks are build with weekly previews while your team tests on real customers. Connecting your POS, QuickBooks or several messaging lines can push it to 6 weeks; dates go in writing.
What happens to my customers and conversations if I stop working with you?
They are yours: code and database are in your name from day one, and you can export customers, quotes and history to Excel or CSV any time at no cost. If we part ways the CRM remains yours; you would only lose our support. It is in the contract.
$150 to $400 USD per month depending on how many sources we connect (POS, website, Google Business Profile, CRM, your own files) and how many locations or people receive summaries, plus a one-time setup of $500 to $1,200. If you already run our website, POS or business system, setup is lower because the connections exist. Invoiced in USD.
How do I know if my website is working?
Three numbers you can actually follow: how many people came and from where (Google, ChatGPT, social, direct), how many did something useful (call, message, quote) and which pages convinced them. Analytics already has them; the report translates them and compares with last month. If nobody looks, the site "works" on faith.
Do I need Google Analytics or a system before signing up?
No. If you have nothing, we set it up: GA4, Search Console, Bing and Google Business Profile go live in your name in the first week. If you sell through a POS or keep your numbers in loose files, we connect them. More sources make the AI more useful, but we start with what you have.
Can the AI get my numbers wrong?
The numbers come from your sources (Analytics, POS, Search Console); the AI does not invent them, it organizes and explains them. Every figure in the report says where it came from, the daily summary shows the raw number next to the explanation, and a person reviews the monthly report before it reaches you.
Can I pause or cancel?
Yes, month to month: setup is paid once and the plan renews monthly; if you pause, Analytics, Search Console and Google Business Profile access stay in your name with the full history. We recommend at least 3 months so month-over-month comparisons mean something, but it is your call.
How much does a task manager for a small team cost?
Per-seat tools run $0 to $10–$20 per user per month; for 25 people that is roughly $3,000 to $6,000 a year, forever. Ours is $2,000 to $4,500 USD one time with unlimited users, a daily WhatsApp or email report and a connection to your POS or CRM. Invoiced in USD.
Why not just use Trello, Asana or Monday?
If you are a few people and already use them happily, stay — we will say so. They fail when the crew never opens them, when daily routines (opening, cleaning, maintenance) have to be created by hand, and when the per-seat bill grows with headcount. A task manager you own is designed on your operation and alerts on WhatsApp or SMS, where your people already are.
Will my team actually use it?
That is the whole design: simple phone screens, tasks already loaded per department, a WhatsApp or text alert for every new or overdue task, and photo proof to close. We test it with your team on real tasks before hand-off; if something goes unused, we change it under warranty. Screens in English or Spanish per user.
Can I ask the AI for the report?
Yes. The system is ready for your AI assistant to read the tasks and answer in plain English: "give me today’s production task report", "what went overdue this week and whose was it?", "build the weekly summary for Monday’s meeting". On top of the automatic daily report on WhatsApp or email.
How long does it take, and what happens to my data if I leave?
2 to 4 weeks from proposal approval; connecting a POS or CRM can push it to 5. Code and database are in your name from day one and you can export tasks, logs and proof any time; if we part ways the system remains yours. It is in the contract.
How much does mobile app development cost for a small business?
With Impulso Digital Dorado, $5,000 to $12,000 USD one time for a business app (orders, bookings, catalog, accounts, push, payments, offline mode), scope in writing and store accounts in your name. That is typically 40–70 % below a US agency for the same scope, because we build nearshore in Tijuana on Pacific time. Invoiced in USD.
Do I need an app or is a website enough?
If your customers only search, browse and message you, a well-built website solves it cheaper and shows up on Google. An app makes sense for daily use (crew, deliveries, field capture), camera or offline needs, or push notifications. We tell you which on the call, even when it pays us less.
Android, iOS or both?
Both if it is for customers in the US or Canada, where iOS carries most of the spending and Android the volume; one if it is for your crew and you choose the phones. We build one base that serves both, so the second platform adds about 30 %, not double.
How long does it take?
6 to 10 weeks from proposal approval: clickable prototype in week one, installable builds every week and store publication at the end (Apple review can take a few days). Payments, offline mode and a POS connection push it to the upper end; the calendar goes in writing.
Do I own the app, the code and the store accounts?
Yes. Google Play and App Store accounts are opened in your name, code and panel are delivered complete and documented, and you can continue with us or anyone else. Warranty covers 3 months after launch; maintenance afterwards is optional and in writing.
With Impulso Digital Dorado, $35 to $90 USD one time depending on design, languages and whether it includes a catalog or booking link; the physical NFC card adds about 50 %, and the per-person price drops about 15 % from 6 people on one team. Most card apps charge a subscription; ours does not. Invoiced in USD.
What is an NFC card and does the customer need an app?
A physical card with a chip: tap it to the customer’s phone and your digital card opens in the browser, nothing to install, on recent iPhones and Androids. It does not replace the link and QR — those keep working — it just turns sharing into a gesture: "tap here". Great for trade shows, showroom sales and clinics.
Can I change my details later?
Yes, and without reprinting anything: the card is a web address, so changing your phone, title, photo or links updates every link, QR code and NFC card you have already handed out. Changes are included for the first year; afterwards you edit from a link or message us.
Does it work for my whole sales team?
Yes. We build one template with the company brand and one card per person with their photo, number and email; an admin can add or remove someone without redoing anything. From 6 people the per-card price drops about 15 %, and each card is measured separately.
Does the card replace a website?
No: it is your introduction in one tap, not a site that shows up on Google when someone searches your service in your area. Many clients start with the card and, when they want to be found on Google and ChatGPT, we connect it to a full website without starting over. We tell you when that step makes sense.
A complete website — with its search research, one URL per service, structured data and contact buttons — that you also manage by talking to your AI assistant: "turn on holiday mode", "add a free-shipping banner this week", "change the package price". It changes in under a minute or within minutes, with a change log, while the base page stays static and fast.
How much does it cost?
$1,200 to $3,000 USD one time, with first-year domain and hosting included and delivery in 4 to 6 weeks. It is not an add-on to another website: it is the complete tier. The range depends on how many pages and modes we design and whether we also connect your POS or CRM (about 40 % more). Invoiced in USD.
How is it different from the standard website?
The standard site ($1,200 to $3,500) is the same structure built for Google and ChatGPT, but we make the changes. The listening tier ($1,200 to $3,000) adds the layer you control: seasonal modes, banners, promos, copy and prices you change with one sentence, with no per-change fee and no mandatory subscription.
How does it work? What is MCP?
MCP is the open standard AI assistants (Claude and compatible) use to connect to tools. Your site exposes safe actions — switch a mode, publish a banner, edit a text — and the assistant runs them when you ask, under your permissions. You never see any of that: you type the instruction and see the result on your page.
Does it hurt my Google rankings or what ChatGPT reads?
No. Modes and banners are a visual layer over the static page; the content Google, Bing and AI bots crawl stays the same, clear and fast. Content changes (prices, copy) publish a new, equally static version with an updated sitemap. It is the opposite of a WordPress full of plugins.
Can I ask my systems to do the same?
Yes, and it is the natural next step: "give me today’s production task report", "build the quarterly executive report and put it in a slide deck", "which products are running low at store 2? Draft the purchase order", "write the WhatsApp collections reminder for customers with an overdue balance". Our POS, CRM and business systems ship ready for it.
$80 to $250 USD a month with Impulso Digital Dorado, depending on site size and how many changes you make. Hosting-only plans run $10 to $40, and US agency retainers $150 to $500. What changes between them is what happens when something actually breaks.
Is it mandatory?
No. A static site in your name stays online without a subscription, and the first month of adjustments plus the first year of domain and hosting are already included with the website. Maintenance is what you buy when you want someone watching it, backing it up and answering you.
Do you maintain sites you did not build?
Yes, and it is half of what we do. We start with a full check and tell you what can be sustained and what is worth rebuilding, with numbers. If the site is on a closed builder or full of plugins that cannot be updated, we say so before billing you a month.
How many changes are included?
A monthly allowance of content changes — copy, prices, photos, promotions and hours — requested on WhatsApp or email. The size of the allowance depends on the tier and is written into the proposal. If you need more one month, we quote it first; it never appears on the invoice unapproved.
What happens if my site goes down?
Monitoring alerts us when the site stops responding, without waiting for a customer to tell you. We restore from the last tested backup, and the monthly report shows how often it happened, for how long and why. Support runs on WhatsApp and email during business hours, Pacific time.
How much does Google Analytics and Search Console setup cost?
$250 to $600 USD one time, depending on how many events need tracking and whether something is already installed. It is rarely priced on its own because it usually hides inside an SEO package; we sell it standalone with the scope in writing.
Why bother if Analytics is already installed?
Having Analytics installed rarely means you are measuring. Typically it counts visits and nothing else: no call, text or quote events, your own traffic not filtered out, and Search Console never verified. Configuring it properly is the difference between seeing numbers and deciding with them.
How do I see visits coming from ChatGPT?
With an AI traffic channel in GA4 grouping chatgpt.com, perplexity.ai, gemini.google.com and Copilot, kept separate from the rest. We also set up Bing Webmaster Tools, which produces the Copilot performance report and powers the index ChatGPT search uses. Without that, those visits disappear into "referral".
Does this replace a visibility retainer?
No, it comes first. This puts the measurement in place once so you know your starting point. Getting found on Google and ChatGPT is monthly work — content, mentions, profile, adjustments — and is quoted separately, from $400 USD a month depending on what your business needs.
How long does it take and what do I get?
3 to 5 days. You get GA4 with tested events, Search Console verified with the sitemap submitted, Bing Webmaster Tools set up, the AI traffic channel, a simple dashboard, the recording of the 1-hour session and a one-page guide. All in your name.
